Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to keep it

We collect only the data necessary to provide personalized learning and support. This may

• Student Information: Name, email, parent email (optional), country/state, module

• progress, assessment results, surveys, and participation data.

• Teacher Information: Name, email, and platform activity.

• School Administrator Information: Name, email, and account management activity.

 

We do not sell student or school data to third parties.

 

How We Use Data
Data is used only to:

• Provide access to The Edge learning platform

• Track and support student learning progress

• Generate anonymized insights and reports for schools

• Improve platform performance and security

• We never use student data for advertising.

 

Compliance and Student Privacy
The Edge is designed to support institutional compliance with applicable student data privacy
laws, including FERPA and COPPA, as well as other data protection regulations that may apply
based on user location or institutional requirements.

 

Schools retain ownership of student data. Ascend Now processes student information solely on
behalf of and at the direction of its institutional customers.

 

Data Security
We maintain industry-standard technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards to
protect personal information. These include encryption of data at rest and in transit, role-based
access controls, continuous monitoring and alerting, and documented incident response
procedures.

 

Data Retention and Deletion

Student data is retained only while a school’s subscription is active. Upon contract termination,
personal data is securely deleted in accordance with Ascend Now’s data retention and disposal
procedures.

 

Third-Party Services
We use secure, independently audited cloud infrastructure providers for hosting. Access to
production data is restricted to authorized personnel through role-based access controls.
Vendor agreements include data protection and confidentiality obligations.

 

Student & Parent Rights
You (or your parent/guardian) may request to access, correct, delete, or limit the collection or
use of your personal information. Requests can be made through your school administrator or
by contacting us directly.
